Fun Haven was packed and rockin’ for C*4’s second event at the venue. Saturday Night Slammasters 2 was another stacked and stellar card from start to finish. The bonus matches weren’t bad but I wasn’t paying much attention to them. Having Shitty in one of them was good but other than that I don’t even remember who one the second bonus match but from what I did pay attention to it was alright.
Alex Vega and Jae Rukin was a real decent match. Alex scored the pin fall victory after using the tag title to hit Rukin over the head. The cocky and brash Vega stood over Rukin holding the belt. This could be a set up to a future match between Rukin and his partner Brent B against Vega and his partner John Greed who weren’t there on this night. Great first match, great heel versus face match to start the show.
A grudge match with two former partners in a short lived tag team took place and was quite a good match with some power moves, a lot of showboating and technical moves. Ethan picks up the win.
A return match from the previous show. Twiggy has a new agenda and that is starting at the bottom and working his way up to the C*4 championship. Much like their first match, Twiggy was saying he respected his opponent and all that sportsmanship stuff……YEAH RIGHT! Brandon had a good showing in this match but wasn’t enough to stop the new Twiggy. I must say the Twiggy now is AMAZING!
Ryan Rogan made his way to the ring uttering the words made famous by Bully Ray….”do you know who I am?” Rogan looking for a match, a fight and that brought out a pissed off Mike Bailey who was in no mood and looking to destroy someone. Rogan gave him a little beating but Mike Bailey more so demolished the so called “greatest wrestler in Canada”. Needless to say, the way Bailey looked Saturday night, I feel sorry for whoever is next. Cough Psycho Mike cough.
The C*4 championship was defended before intermission in a hard hitting contest with two of the hardest working talents on the indy scene today. This match was so physical that Hawke’s nose was broken. Hacker walked out the victor but Hawke came withing inches of winning. I would love to see a rematch down the road.
Dirty, filthy, fun, entertaining. Sexxxy Eddy and Buxx put on a weird, gross, but entertaining contest with some wrestling and some crotch grabbing and some other stuff. All that was missing was Pinkie Sanchez and would have been much like the three way at the first Fun Haven show. Great encounter from two very unique individuals.
One of the greatest tag team matches in C*4 took place in the main event. Four great teams fighting with everything they had to earn a title shot. Lots of high flying, technical and power moves in this one. All eight guys tore it up. This is tag team wrestling at its best. In the end The Super Smash Brothers were able to outlast the other three teams and look to become the tag team champs down the road.
Overall, it was a real good show. From start to finish everyone busted their asses as usual. I can’t say much, C*4 is something you have to witness for yourself.
Saturday November 23rd, Vanier Columbous Hall, 260 McArthur Avenue in OTTAWA, C*4 Triumph 2013. Six year anniversary show, you won’t want to miss it.
